Democratic U.S. Congressmen from Massachusetts and New Jersey are voicing their disapproval of the decision by Charlie Baker, a Republican nominee for Governor of Massachusetts, to join New Jersey Governor Christie Christie at fundraiser in Boston Thursday night.

Massachusetts U.S. Congressman Michael Capuano joined fellow Democratic Congressman Bill Pascrell of New Jersey in saying Baker shouldn’t make it seem that he is connected to Christie in any way while the governor is embroiled in the ongoing bridge scandal.

“I just think it’s wrong to be encouraging this type of political activity or looking in any way as though you support,” said Capuano.

The fundraiser benefits theRepublican Governors Association, which Christie chairs. 2012 Presidential nominee and former Republican governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney is also scheduled to attend. It is being hosted by Jim Davis, chairman of the New Balance sneaker line.
