Because of increasing COVID-19 case numbers throughout the Hudson Valley, some county employees will be switching from in-person work to working remotely.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced Wednesday that additional staff from designated departments will work remotely, effective Friday, November 20. He says this is on top of staff that have been working remotely throughout the year. On Monday, Westchester Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins announced a new workforce policy with a percentage that applies to on-site employees across the 4.500 employee county workforce.

“Effective November 23 for county employees, where it’s possible, we’re going to have a maximum of 25 percent of the county workforce,” says Jenkins.

He says all county boards and commissions also will function remotely.
