New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Friday that eight additional companies in the state have received support to produce needed supplies to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The companies will increase New York’s manufacturing capacity while creating jobs. Three are in the Hudson Valley.

Altor Safety in Rockland County is receiving $800,000 to produce and distribute FDA-approved, 3-ply disposable face masks, and will invest more than $2.5 million to purchase machinery, equipment and raw materials to manufacture and distribute these products. Georgia Brown, in New Windsor, Orange County, will use $44,400 to produce 3-ply surgical masks and invest more than $111,000 to ramp up production. Ziel Inc., an apparel manufacturer in Newburgh, will pivot a portion of its manufacturing operations to produce N-95 equivalent masks thanks to $390,000.
