A new Metro-North program allows riders to go from the train to Zipcar at certain stations along three of the railroad’s lines.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Friday announced the partnership as a Hudson Valley Car Share initiative. Fourteen Zipcars are available at nine Metro-North stations. The new Metro-North program is called Ride2Drive. Cuomo says the initiative will boost the regional tourism economy. On the Hudson Line, Zipcars are available in Poughkeepsie and Beacon; on the New Haven Line, in Port Chester, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Pelham and Mount Vernon East; and at North White Plains and Woodlawn on the Harlem Line. The program is expected to expand to another 24 Metro-North stations, on both sides of the Hudson River, within the next year.
