Stephen Hess is a senior fellow emeritus in Governance Studies at The Brookings Institution. He served on White House staff during Eisenhower and Nixon presidencies and as advisor to Presidents Ford and Carter. He recently released a new edition of his book from 50 years ago, now called America’s Political Dynasties: From Adams to Clinton. The book has two additions, the Bushes and Clintons. With a look toward the future, Hess talks about what could be a political dynasty in waiting, the Clintons. With Jeb Bush having dropped out of the presidential race, I asked Hess where the Clintons stand when it comes to powerhouse families.
