A Dutchess County artist is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide with an installation at his 11-acre Stanfordville residence. WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne visited the multimedia installation opening day Saturday, in recognition of the Turkish massacre of some 1.5 million Armenians.

This is one of four auditory experiences in “Womb of Sorrow,” the first part of Kardash Onnig’s two-part installation entitled “TransfourmingSorrow.” It’s an invitation to not only mourn, but to transform our individual and collective sorrow.
“Transfourming Sorrow” is free and open to the public May 2, 9, and 16 at Onnig’s residence in Stanfordville.
