Construction of bridges carrying a major parkway in the lower Hudson Valley is complete.

Governor Andrew Cuomo Friday announced the completion of a $21.7 million NY Works transportation infrastructure project to replace the northbound and southbound bridges carrying the Sprain Brook Parkway over Route 119 in the Village of Elmsford, in Westchester County. The section of Route 119 and its accompanying sidewalk that passes underneath the bridges were repaved and new curbing, street benches, and trash receptacles were installed. The project, which supported 500 jobs during construction, provides updated landscaping with maple, oak, and pine trees, and ryegrass plantings. The Sprain Brook Parkway sees an average of 100,000 vehicles per day.
