Emanuel Ax To Play Opening Night At Tanglewood

Globally celebrated pianist, Emanuel Ax, will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22 with Andris Nelsons and The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s season opening concert in The Shed at Tanglewood on July 5 at 8 p.m. The program that evening will also feature the orchestra playing Mahler’s Symphony No. 5.

Ax will be back at Tanglewood in August to play two concerts at Ozawa Hall – one with Leonidas Kavakos and one with Kavaokos and Yo-Yo Ma -- and will participate in a Concerto Conducting Class led by Stefan Asbury. The latter is a Tanglewood Learning Institute OpenStudio event to be held July 30 at 10 a.m. in Ozawa Hall.
