WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses a comment from President Trump's chief economic adviser that "both sides will pay" in an escalating trade war with China.

He also comments on reports that Russia is targeting European elections, and that the Congressional Black Caucus has pitched a "dream ticket" of former Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris to challenge President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders.
