A prescribed burn at the Albany Pine Bush
Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is known for its rare habitat and – as many Capital Region residents can attest – fire. Its more than 3,300 acres are maintained by prescribed burns.
A presentation set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center will focus on lessons learned from the last 28 years of prescribed fire.

To learn more, WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke to Albany Pine Bush Preserve Conservation Director Neil Gifford.
