A state of the workforce report was recently issued by the Albany-based New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals, laying out a path to a sustainable pipeline to fill payrolls with higher paying, more promising employment.

Ninety percent of the jobs in New York pay less than $32,000 a year, according to Melinda Mack, the association’s executive director. But, Mack tells WAMC’s Brian Shields that good, higher-paying jobs are out there for people with the right skills.
