A state of emergency was declared Saturday night after severe thunderstorms swept through the Town of Hoosick and Village of Hoosick Falls in Rensselaer County.
Travel was banned on several roads after severe flooding and washouts.
Hoosick Falls Mayor Rob Allen declared the State of Emergency around 9 p.m.
A damage assessment was being conducted Sunday morning.
Several residences and businesses in the community with private wells have had point-of-entry-treatment systems installed to remove the chemical PFOA.
