Governor Cuomo Announces Investigations Into Alleged Hate Crimes

Office of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered state police, SUNY police, and the State Division of Human Rights to investigate an alleged hate crime that took place on the SUNY Geneseo campus Friday.

A residence assistant reportedly discovered graffiti including a swastika and the word “Trump” inside a dormitory.

Cuomo said in a release that New York has “zero tolerance for bigotry, fear, and hatred.”

The hate crime investigation was the second launched in the state in a span of hours.

In Wellsville, a softball field dugout was defaced with the words “Make America White Again” and a swastika.
