Amsterdam Police Find Illegal Marijuana Growing Facility

Amsterdam Police have discovered a sophisticated marijuana growing operation in an empty warehouse.

The Daily Gazette reports the facility was discovered Friday on the sixth floor of the former Fownes Warehouse at 26 Elk Street.

Amsterdam police chief Greg Culick told the newspaper that the complex was discovered after neighbors reported seeing flashlights in the building Thursday night.

Three suspects have been apprehended though their identifies and the extent of charges have not yet been announced.
