NY AG Says Mall Owner Agrees To Ensure Accessibility

New York’s attorney general says he has secured an agreement to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities at the state’s largest shopping malls. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman Thursday announced an agreement with Pyramid Management Group LLC, the largest privately-owned shopping center owner and developer in the Northeast, to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided equal access to the indoor and outdoor common areas at its 12 shopping malls in New York, including at Crossgates Mall in Albany. The attorney general’s investigation of Pyramid was part of an ongoing initiative to ensure accessibility at shopping malls and centers and arose from a complaint at Champlain Centre in Plattsburgh. In the Hudson Valley, the agreement applies to the Poughkeepsie Galleria, Palisades Center and Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown.
