New York Racing Association Releases 2016 Dates

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) hopes to continue to operate the Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct tracks.

NYRA released its 2016 racing calendar on Wednesday. The organization is calling for 237 days of racing at Belmont Park, Aqueduct Race Track, and Saratoga Race Course.

The 40-day meet at Saratoga will begin on Friday July 22 and end on Labor Day, September 5th. The Grade 1 Whitney Stakes is scheduled for Saturday, August 6th and the 147th Travers Stakes is set for August 27th.

The $1.5 million Belmont Stakes is scheduled for Saturday, June 1st. Aqueduct’s $1 million Wood Memorial and Carter Handicap are set for Saturday, April 9th.
