New York Officials To Announce Conservation Grants

New York environmental officials will announce several conservation grants in conjunction with Earth Day observances this week.

Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens will join elected officials and land trust administrators at Monday's announcement. They will gather at the Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, near the Hudson River.

The grants will go to land trusts around the state.

Earth Day is Wednesday. The first observance was 45 years ago on April 22, 1970.
