The Saratoga Casino and Raceway says the 74th season of harness racing will begin this Sunday.
This year’s spring schedule will feature live racing Fridays and Saturdays at 6:45 pm and Sunday matinees starting at 12:45. The Thursday card will be moved to a 4 p.m. post.
Raceway officials said all-source handles have increased over each of the last five years.
In a release, John Matarazzo, Director of Racing Operations said this season horsemen “will be competing for purses exceeding $16 million with average purses of $93,000 every night.”
