Speaking with reporters Tuesday in central New York,  Governor Andrew Cuomo refuted reports that he has had discussions with Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney about whether the Republican could replace Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy on the ballot in November.

“We have not had that conversation,” Cuomo said. “Well, I am not talking about any politics yet. That assumes I’m running for governor, that assumes my lieutenant governor isn’t running for lieutenant governor, so there are a lot of assumptions there. I’m sticking on the government stuff right now. I’m focusing on the government and getting the budget done."
