The Vermont Legislature has adjourned its session.

The Vermont Senate ended the first half of its biennium midafternoon Friday. Later in the afternoon, the House passed the roughly $7 billion state budget and also adjourned. Democratic House Speaker Jill Krowinski.

“We gaveled in in the midst of a pandemic and we have made the greatest investment in Vermont to build us back better and stronger," the Speaker said.

Republican Governor Phil Scott thanked the chambers for their work.

“I greatly appreciate and I’m grateful for most of the choices you’ve made but all of your efforts," Scott said.

The Legislature was completely virtual this session and currently plans to return to the Statehouse in January.
