The Vermont Senate passed a $7.1 billion budget for fiscal year 2022 Friday afternoon.
The fiscal plan is $191 million more than the House version and $374 million more than Gov. Phil Scott’s proposed budget. It uses $478 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds.
The Senate version passed a few hours after Governor Scott expressed concerns about the budget bill.
“I have a lot of concerns with the budget mainly around the ARPA funding and I don’t think they’re doing it right," the Republican said.
The Vermont House will now review the Senate version of the bill.
