The state of Vermont will resume the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine against COVID-19 on Tuesday.

State clinics will resume use of the single-shot vaccine on Tuesday. Some pharmacies planned to begin administering it on Monday.

The state announced over the weekend the vaccinations would resume after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authorized its use despite a rare risk of blood clots.

Health Department spokesman Ben Truman said clinics using the other multi-shot vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna have been taking place as usual.
