Vermont Gov. Phil Scott is praising the state's lawmakers for putting politics aside during the extended legislative session to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his message to House lawmakers at the close of the 2020 session on Friday, Scott said he was proud of the way both the House and the Senate regrouped and found ways to work outside of the Statehouse after the COVID-19 outbreak began.  “It just wasn’t the same working remotely.  But it was necessary to make sure our government continued to operate to keep each other safe and it needed to happen quickly.”

Governor Scott’s comments were delivered virtually to both chambers - which were meeting remotely.
