The Vermont Legislature returns to session today after a month-long break to continue work on the state budget and allocating federal coronavirus relief funds.
The leaders of key House committees discussed the priorities for the month-long session Tuesday morning. Democratic House Speaker Mitzi Johnson said the focus will be on the budget and setting up for any potential new federal funds.  “We’ll be looking at how to meet Vermonters’ basic needs as high unemployments and recession and social distancing continue. And we’ll be looking for ways to really set ourselves up for a very strong economic recovery.”

Republican Governor Phil Scott proposed a budget on August 18th that includes federal coronavirus relief funds.
