The Vermont Health Department reported 940 cases of the coronavirus statewide on Monday, unchanged from Sunday. The Health Commissioner cautions that despite the positive trend, the virus spreads easily and the state must continue to take precautions.
Dr. Mark Levine said it is important to continue to flatten the curve and not get complacent. He pointed to neighboring Clinton County, New York just across Lake Champlain. The Health Department in Plattsburgh on Saturday reported nine people tested positive for the virus and 27 close contacts of those positive cases are now in quarantine after several parties by SUNY students in Plattsburgh.  “They essentially doubled the number of people they’re now following with just one instance.”

The director of the Clinton County Health Department called the new cases disturbing because they were preventable.
