Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger is calling for intensified testing at a long term care facility after 5 residents, one of whom died, tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Thursday state officials announced that one of two elderly Vermonters that died from COVID-19 was a female resident at Burlington Health & Rehab long-term care facility. Weinberger says the state must stop the spread of the virus in the facility.   “I asked them to prioritize the appropriate virus testing at this facility, this is the largest outbreak in the state, to identify as quickly as possible all patients and health care workers who are infected or suspected of infection.”

The state is seeking help from the CDC.
