Comcast's only call center in Vermont is set to lay off 35 workers.
The company has announced plans to consolidate its South Burlington, Vt. and Enfield, Ct. call centers.
WCAX-TV reports the Vermont call center is set to close Oct. 11.
The company in a statement says that employees have several weeks to decide whether to take a severance package, transfer to Enfield, transition to a new position, or continue doing their job virtually from home.
The virtual jobs would include splitting shifts in the morning and evening, as well as working weekends.
