A number of Vermont universities are offering classes on marijuana as lawmakers debate legalizing the drug for retail sale.
Castleton University and Vermont Technical College join the University of Vermont in offering cannabis-related certifications. The Burlington Free Press reports UVM was the first university to offer a medical certification and does offer a cannabis class to pharmacology majors.

However, Castleton is weaving education on cannabis into its liberal arts curriculum, the first in-state institution to do so.

UVM's Cannabis Science and Medicine Professional Certification is an online class meant to help inform physicians and dispensary workers to learn about marijuana.
