A structure fire in North Adams, Massachusetts has left 11 without a home.

The fire at 246-248 Houghton Street began in the early afternoon Tuesday. North Adams Mayor Tom Bernard, after visiting the scene, praised the efforts of first responders.

“I’m just so glad – and I think we’re so fortunate – that the fire was contained with limited injury and limited loss to people,” the mayor told WAMC.

He says multiple fire departments responded to the blaze – including North Adams, Williamstown, and Clarksburg.
