Vermont has settled a dispute with its pharmacy benefits manager, which oversees management of prescription benefits for the state's employees and retirees.
The $503,500 settlement between Express Scripts, the Vermont Attorney General’s office and the Vermont Department of Human Resources resolves a dispute over charges paid by the state under a now expired contract.

According to the state Attorney General’s office, the dispute centered on the meaning of terms in a contract that expired in 2013.

Under the settlement Vermont will receive increased guaranteed prescription rebates in 2019 for prescriptions purchased in 2018.
