The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle counties will join the University of Vermont Health Network next year after a unanimous vote.
The VNA's board of directors says they will be able to provide more seamless and personalized care through the integration, which will take place on Jan. 1.

The Burlington Free Press reports a partnership between the two organizations has been in discussion since 2015.

After affiliating, the VNA will remain a nonprofit with its own board of directors, responsible for its own activities.

The organization will keep its current name for at least the next year while it focuses on integrating into the network, before it eventually adopts the branding of UVM Health Network.
