Lenox, Massachusetts lawmakers have approved an affordable housing plan.

The plan will add at least 60 new units for low-or moderate-income families over the next five years.

It’s funded in part by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Under the state’s “Housing Production Plan,” it also meets the mandate that 10 percent of housing units in any town be affordable.

In Lenox, a family of four earning $64,000 a year and living in a $175,000 home is considered affordable.
