A pub in North Adams, Massachusetts is withholding the rent it owes to the city’s redevelopment authority, contending the city has let the building fall into disrepair.

The Freight Yard Pub in Western Gateway Heritage State Park in North Adams says it won’t pay $4,000 to the city’s redevelopment authority, which operates as the landlord.

The business tells the Berkshire Eagle the authority has not kept up with needed repairs. The pub accounts for almost the authority’s entire revenue.

Last year, the authority settled a lawsuit with the pub for roughly $300,000.

The authority wants to sell the park for $1.2 million to the proposed Extreme Model Railroad and Contemporary Architecture Museum.
