A ban on recreational marijuana will not be included on the November ballot in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Pittsfield’s Ordinances and Rules Committee rejected a possible ban on recreational marijuana, which is now legal statewide, at a meeting Monday night.

The city’s residents voted in favor of retail pot on a statewide ballot question last November. In July, Governor Charlie Baker signed a law allowing communities to opt out of recreational pot sales and to determine local taxes on the drug.

City officials say there is no point of a redo. Last year, 58.4 percent of Pittsfield voters supported recreational marijuana.

The Berkshire Regional Planning Commission will hold a recreational pot workshop in Lenox at 6 on August 31st.
