Four Berkshire communities will share $3.2 million in federal grants for home improvements.

Monterey, Becket, Adams and North Adams have each received a share of $3.2 million of federal Community Development Block Grants – out of $31 million given to Massachusetts.

The funds will be used for rehabbing low- to moderate-income housing, as well as some municipal properties.

The goal of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development program is to assist communities in cleaning up blight.
