Massachusetts State Senator Adam Hinds has secured funding for employment in Berkshire County.

Hinds’ budget amendment secured $75,000 for a workforce alignment czar to work with the Berkshire County Regional Employment Board.

Hinds, heard on the Senate’s YouTube Channel, says it will help bring jobs to the region.

“It fills a critical gap that’s important for economic development,” Hinds said.

The Democrat said there are roughly 2,000 jobs available in the Berkshires, and many people are seeking employment.

The workforce alignment czar will work to help match the unemployed with available jobs, and direct them to existing training programs if needed.
