Stockbridge, Massachusetts has approved a new taxpayer funding method for infrastructure improvements at regional public schools.

At Monday’s annual town meeting, residents approved a new formula for how their taxes will fund Berkshire Hills Regional School District’s capital projects.

They want the money to go toward renovating Monument Mountain Regional High School.

Previous resolutions were voted down in Great Barrington, which the school district also serves along with West Stockbridge.

The new formula will remove some of the financial responsibility from Great Barrington taxpayers, who pay for the lion’s share of the district’s cost.
