Massachusetts is poised to require greater on-the-job protections for pregnant workers.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act passed unanimously in the Massachusetts House earlier this week.

The bill has been a priority for a coalition of women’s rights groups since it was introduced in 2015.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Linda Matys O’Connell, acting executive director of the South Hadley-based organization MotherWoman.
