Several hundred people are gathered in Burlington, Vermont, Friday afternoon to express their displeasure with the election of Donald Trump as president.
The rally lasted from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday in a park behind City Hall in the city where unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders served as mayor in the 1980s.

A related vigil was scheduled in the evening.

Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo told the Burlington Free Press on Friday afternoon that he expected the protests to be peaceful. A spokesman for the police department said there were no arrests at the afternoon demonstration.
