A Vermont town had hoped to bring home Kevin Bacon for its third annual Baconfest, but the actor said Monday he can't make it.
The Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce launched a social media blitz last month inviting Bacon to Saturday's event. Residents in Brattleboro have been photographed with a life-size cardboard cutout of him as part of the campaign.

But Monday afternoon Bacon said he was working in Vancouver and posted his regrets thru a Twitter video: "I really appreciate all the support and the hilarious effort and unfortunately I gotta be working."

Baconfest features races, music and bacon recipes. It will end with a screening of the Kevin Bacon film "Footloose."
