A just-released scientific study says imported forest pests such as the Asian longhorned beetle and emerald ash borer are causing more than $2 billion in damages each year in the United States.
The report by a team of 16 scientists lead by the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and the Harvard Forest calls for stepped-up efforts to prevent insects and disease from destroying our nation’s trees.
