New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen is calling for full funding of the Department of Homeland Security.

Shaheen was joined by New Hampshire firefighters Thursday expressing the need for Congress to pass a clean bill that fully finds the Department of Homeland security for the rest of the fiscal year. She notes that some Republicans are questioning the need for continued funding.   “We’ve already had statements by some members of Congress saying that it wouldn’t have that great an impact if we shut down the Department of Homeland Security and didn’t fund it.”

Homeland Security grant programs for state-level first responders are at risk if the department is not funded.
