Police agencies along the northern border will work together during Easter weekend for a joint traffic enforcement initiative.

Beginning on Friday the Quebec Provincial Police will work with State police from Vermont, New York, New Hampshire and Maine and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol on an initiative they are calling “Operation Road Safety Without Borders”.

With the expected  increased cross border traffic during the Easter holiday, the law enforcement agencies say it is an opportunity to demonstrate that the risks of being intercepted are the same everywhere.

Officers will target speeding, seat belt compliance, distracted  and impaired driving.
