In an interview with POLITICO, Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin calls Terry McAuliffe’s election a rebuke to national Republicans.

Shumlin, who is chair of the Democratic Governors’ Association, was interviewed by Politico Wednesday morning regarding the Virginia gubernatorial election, which McAuliffe won, and Chris Christie’s reelection in New Jersey.  Politico reports that Shumlin called the Virginia democratic victory a harbinger of the 2014 midterm governor’s races.  Shumlin characterized the New Jersey race unwinable for Democrats, and a testament to politics and personality.
