(Airs 5/14 & 5/15/17) The Media Project is an inside look at media coverage of current events with WAMC’s CEO Alan Chartock, Albany Times Union Editor Rex Smith, and University at Albany Professor and Journalism Program Director Rosemary Armao. This week the Media Project is in front of a live audience at the new Hearst Media Center at the Times Union Newspaper in Colonie New York. It also marks the last Media Project appearance by Rosemary Armao who leaves for an investigative journalism teaching position in Jordan. On this week’s show, they talk about the American press being excluded from a meeting between President Trump and Russian officials, while the Russian propaganda photographer was let in, a reporter arrested while trying to question Cabinet member, President Trump’s disdain for the press is giving people a reason to support it as New York Times and other media see higher subscriptions and donations because Trump is attacking the press.
