pay gap would improve women’s Social Security benefits as well as Social Security’s finances overall. She teamed up recently with officials from Social Security Works to release the research and highlight additional benefits to pay equity.  (:30)

Next, we turn to a confidence. 51%’s Joe Donahue speaks with the authors of The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance---What Women Should Know. It is part one of a two-part interview.

2014 has been a mile marker for women, especially when it comes to politics. While Western women have taken a step forward, headlines suggest women in many Islamic countries have taken two leaps back. 51%’s Dave Lucas has the following story.

Now we’ll here from two Islamic high school students as they address traditional Islamic values, through their poem.

And that concludes our show for this week. The gap won’t be too long until our next show, and there’s no gap if you’d like to hear this show again or visit the 51% archives online at wamc.org.
