The Book Show #1007
Albany, NY – In Roland Merullo's new novel "Breakfast with Buddha," a cookbook editor with a loving wife and two happy children nevertheless feels a slight emptiness in his life, especially after his parents are killed in a car accident near their North Dakota farm. When he and his new-age sister arrange a cross country drive to close down the family home, it becomes a bait and switch. Instead of his sister joining him, she manages to send a guru wearing a maroon robe and carrying a single bag. On the drive west as they stop to eat at fine restaurants and sleep in inns, the skeptical Otto Ringling finds that he slowly begins to learn the meaning of life.
