If The Simpsons are among the most well-traveled families in TV history, one of the key figures behind the show isn’t far behind. Mike Reiss has been to 134 countries are counting. The Emmy and Peabody recipient is a long-time writer for "The Simpsons," which was just renewed through its 34th season, and was co-showrunner way back in season three and four.

Reiss’ new show on the Bleav Podcast Network is called What Am I Doing Here?, where Reiss talks about the highs and lows of world travel — including stops in North Korea, Iraq, Iran and the North Pole.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs.
