On February 18, 1861, Abraham Lincoln visited Albany for the only time before his funeral train returned four years later.
It was the same day a young actor by the name of John Wilkes Booth was appearing in a play at a Green Street theater in the city's South End.
Today marks the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s coffin arriving in Albany, where thousands lined up to pay their respects as the 16th president lay in state in the capitol.
WAMC's Dave Lucas spoke with Union College President Stephen Ainlay about Lincoln’s ties with the Capital Region.
