Two Reports Of Attempted Child Abduction

There were two reports of attempted child abduction in our region yesterday. In Colonie, New York police are investigating an apparent child luring early Thursday morning. Lt. Robert Winn of the Colonie police said when an older man approached a 9-year-old child and yelled “Get in my car!” The 9-year-old instead ran away. The student at Forts Ferry Elementary described the driver of the gray four-door car as an older man with a British accent.

Meanwhile, a man tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy while he was walking home from school yesterday afternoon on Norfolk Road in New Marlborough, Massachusetts. According to a release from the Berkshire District Attorney’s office, the boy says he was approached by a man in a gray, four-door car with blue and white New York State license plates. It is unknown if the two reports are related.
